JO: The proof (part three)

Joël Godefroy doesn’t tremble when he paints, he doesn’t have any qualms here about saying backwards, forwards his shaking is the artwork turned black his graphic design a permanent invention of the deconstruction of the Graf myth of the master jean michel.
Alive Joël reinvents a jubilatory happiness of the expression street cry newspapers held up ripped posters and mounting of proposals on large formats tight on their frames ready to invade the sitting room the kitchen the wall there.
To paint is to love always and in the instant.

Joël

Joël Godefroy

(In three acts)
He is a Painter. One day puts his foot in it. Never in the silence of his workshop. On the fronts. The paint is a bomb, in a tin, crushed, applied. His shaking like his transfer printing: inventions. The idea of bringing to history of Art new patents, set amongst the pages of thousands of notebooks that are the strength of the painter and his faith like his cross path. Because Joël is a painter.
Yes! Mad? Most likely. Mad about chocolate, ink, felt, paper that drinks.
He is a painter in his being. Men with their mouths wide open, women, pussies, muscles and slogans, letters: turned around, licked, support undone, of the letters that lean, explain or make fun; of the letter to be or of the being of the letter. Joël is a painter of letters in the inventive tradition of spontaneous typography. Slogans with no gloves. Stringer of lines in dreams.
Joël has his shaking. A hand defying all competition, the dilemma between there and here does not exist. He fills, resists. He is an invader of space, a virtuoso of the art of leaving blanks, using cream, ochre, and rings to whiten the surface and let the picture breath like a great contemporary pompier master.
Joël Godefroy is a backwards painter who goes from the range of the Academy to drafts. The the first class: to make some dirty cleanliness with a brain and two hands and leave aside in the wake, his trade of painter for his trade of living.
And in Joël Godefroy’s artworks, I learn to read my life as if I had always been to school.
